Privacy policy

In short
- We collect the details you send us when you email us, plus basic technical data that any website receives.
- We use them only to reply to you and to keep the site running safely. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@cedisense.ai.
1. Who we are
This website, cedisense.ai, is run by Eric Dankwa, founder of CediSense. CediSense is in the process of being registered as a company in Ghana. In this policy, "CediSense", "we" and "us" mean Eric Dankwa and, once it is registered, that company.
We are applying for registration with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana and will publish our registration number here once it is issued. For anything about your personal data, email hello@cedisense.ai.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers personal data we collect through this website and when you email us. It is written to meet the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
It does not cover loan applications. CediSense is software used by licensed lenders. When you apply for a loan with a lender that uses CediSense, that lender decides how your data is used, and we process it only on the lender's instructions under a written agreement. The lender's own privacy notice explains your rights for that application, including your right to ask for a decision to be reconsidered by a person.
3. What we collect
Details you give us. When you email us, we receive your name, email address and anything you choose to include, such as your institution, role and phone number.
Technical data. When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically records basic information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you open and the time of your visit. This is standard for any website and helps keep it secure.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, any loan application details, ID numbers or financial records.
4. How we use it
| What we do | Data used | Why we are allowed to |
|---|---|---|
| Reply to your email and arrange a meeting | Your email and what it contains | You contacted us and asked us to reply |
| Follow up about a pilot or partnership you discussed with us | Our emails with you | Our legitimate interest in running our business, balanced against your rights |
| Keep the website secure and working | Technical data | Our legitimate interest in protecting the site and its visitors |
| Meet legal, tax or regulatory duties | Any of the above, only where required | To comply with the law |
We will not send you marketing newsletters unless you separately agree to receive them.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the site and reply to you, and only as much as they need:
- Netlify, which hosts this website.
- Google, which serves the fonts used on this site and so receives your IP address when a page loads.
- Our email provider, [name of your email provider], which handles our replies to you.
Each provider is bound by its own data protection terms. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, for example to a court or regulator. We never sell personal data.
6. Transfers outside Ghana
Some of our providers store or process data outside Ghana, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens, we rely on the provider's contractual commitments to protect personal data to a standard comparable to Ghanaian law.
7. How long we keep it
- Emails: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless your institution becomes a customer, in which case our customer agreement applies.
- Technical data: for the period set by our hosting provider, usually no more than 30 days.
After that we delete the data or make it anonymous.
8. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 you can:
- ask whether we hold data about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete data we no longer need or should not have;
- object to us using your data, or withdraw consent you gave earlier;
- complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.org.gh.
To use any of these rights, email hello@cedisense.ai. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will reply within 21 days. There is no charge.
9. Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Our email account is protected by multi-factor sign-in, and only people who need to reply to you can read your messages. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
10. Cookies
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics tools that follow you across other sites. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where required.
11. Children
This site is for financial institutions and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our services or the law change, including when Ghana's planned new data protection law takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
